Google Earth is an amazing program. I've searched for the first house that Janice and I purchased, seen satellite views of churches I have served, and vicariously visited places that one day I hope to see in person.

Type in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Google Earth slowly turns and zooms in on this community. Out of the millions of places on this planet, we can journey to the place that I have called home for over thirteen years. God loves this community.

Love is seen in this: God sends his Son to a specific place at a specific time to be born of a woman and placed in a feeding trough. God's love is not generic. God's love is specific. It is for us. It is for you.

"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him." 1 John 4:9 ESV

I love Colorado Springs. Not because of the Garden of the Gods, the Air Force Academy or Pikes Peak (these don't hurt) but because of the people I have been privileged to call friends.

But I also have friends throughout this country in places like Portland, Oregon, Lincoln, Nebraska, Spokane, Washington and Saginaw, Michigan; places that can all be found using Google Earth, towns for whom God sent his Son.

God's love is real and meant for real people. God's love is for you no matter where you live.
